FIRST COMMUNION REQUIREMENTS
|
First Communion is a special day when a child receives the Eucharist for the first time. The Eucharist is the consecrated bread and wine that Catholics believe become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.
At First Communion, children welcome Jesus into their hearts in a new and personal way. It is an important step in their journey of faith and a sign that they are growing closer to God and to the Church. Before receiving First Communion, children are prepared through prayer, learning, and participation in parish life. They learn about Jesus, the Mass, and how to live with love, kindness, and forgiveness. First Communion is a joyful celebration shared with family, friends, and the parish community, reminding us that Jesus is always with us and invites us to follow Him. |
